Give me the mundane.

Send me somewhere new.

Let me talk to strangers.

My goal is to translate private emotions, high concepts and physical landscapes into bold narratives. I seek out human stories that venture outside comfort zones and burrow into the subconscious to reveal versions of the truth. I believe that people are experts in their own lives. I believe we are more than the data points that come to define what the algorithms say we are.

I sometimes have to veer outside of journalism to be a journalist. I experiment with new media and forms. I find that an interdisciplinary approach to telling stories proves the most effective means of communication.

Leveraging the concept of “fake news” for what it really is—a hybrid genre—I use speculation as a tool for story projection and forecasting. In response to a media ecosystem where the messenger is the message, I build story worlds that can help us to visualize the future.

I collaborate with people from different fields and disciplines. I am searching for new perspectives to approach old problems. I implement story as an intervention; just as the ancients did when they coded stories with science, making myths the world’s first public service announcements. By reframing the present-day norms, we can upcycle stories to connect us to our multi-dimensional reality.

My unconventional methodology helps me to make connections between the past, which is playing out in front of us, and the future within us, which is ours to build together.
